Float frames

Custom-sized float frames built from our solid oak profile, designed for stretched canvas artworks up to 35mm deep.

Stretched Linen

No fixed sizes or pre-made formats. Let your work set the dimensions. Built using fine weave, triple-primed Belgian linen (320gsm) for a stable, responsive painting surface.

Canvas & Frame

Simplify your workflow by ordering a stretched linen canvas and matching frame, built to fit together.

Finished with care.

Each frame is glue-joined, underpinned, and sanded smooth, then sealed by hand with a low-sheen hardwax oil. The result is a durable, gallery-level finish that protects the timber while preserving its natural character.

FAQ

How does ordering work?

Measure the height and width of your artwork.
Float frames are made 30mm larger to allow for a ~5mm shadow gap.
Stretched canvas is made to the size entered.

How does frame mounting work?

Frames are supplied with mounting holes, screws, and spacers. Once your artwork is aligned in the frame, the screws are installed from the reverse.

If you order a canvas and frame together, the frame is supplied fitted to the canvas. The canvas can be removed for painting and reattached once complete.

Can you mount the frame to my artwork?

Yes. We can mount the frame for you. Let us know in your order comments or contact us to arrange a drop-off.

Can I just send you my artwork?

Yes. If you don’t want to measure and order online, we can handle this for you. Send us an enquiry and we’ll organise the rest.

Can you do a different finish on the frames?

We offer four standard finishes. If you need something different, get in touch and we can discuss options.

What artwork depths will fit the profile?

Our frame profile fits artworks up to 35mm deep. If your artwork is under 30mm, spacers are required to lift it within the frame. We recommend doing this with the artwork in our workshop.

Do you offer other frame profiles?

We provide a streamlined service using a single universal float frame. For larger orders, contact us to discuss alternative profiles.

Why choose linen over cotton canvas?

Linen offers a more stable and refined painting surface than cotton. It is made from longer natural fibres, which hold tension better over time and respond more consistently to changes in humidity.

The result is a surface that supports cleaner brushwork, holds detail more effectively, and maintains its structure at larger sizes.

We use fine weave, triple-primed Belgian linen (320gsm) across all canvases.
For larger orders, alternative canvas options can be arranged if required.

How does pickup and delivery work?

Orders can be collected from our workshop by appointment (located in 3018). Delivery is via Australia Post or courier, depending on size and location.

What is the lead time?

Standard production time is within 21 days. Large orders or custom work may take longer. If you have a deadline, let us know and we’ll advise.

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

All frames are custom-made. Returns or exchanges are only accepted if the product is faulty.

Can I visit your workshop?

Our workshop is a private studio and not a retail space. If you have a framing enquiry, please contact us.
